Hair colour
I'm starting to get that 'bored with hair colour' feeling. Let's have a vote!

Though I'm (probably) blatantly going to stick with some form of red-yellow-orange. I like red-heads.

So what hair colour do ya think would be good?

Only one more month at work before 1.5 months of freedom! I feel guilty but I'm really starting to dislike it here now. The new office building is gorgeous but I'm totally trapped in the middle of nowhere, no public transport or anything within walking distance. If I feel ill (like today) there's no way for me to get home, I just have to hang around till 5. I also have loads of errands I need to do at the post office and bank (including the rather important give-me-a-loan one) that I can't do during the week anymore. Then I'm busy modelling on weekends. I guess I could cancel a couple of shoots but I really need the extra cash. And cancelling 'because I need to go to the bank' seems lame.

Wow, my excellent writing skills and sentence construction strike one again.

This week also seems to have been one of many new shiny pics. Including this entry for the British Hairdressing Awards. This was actually an extra thing we did after the main shoot but I think I prefer it to the other looks we did.

I like that the lips match the jacket.

I always feel inspired when I work with these guys. Also, Bea just told me about this new book she saw last time she was at Bedhead Studios - just released this month, the 'Urban Detailing Collection' look book from Tigi. Apparently there's some new pics of me in there but I haven't seen it yet. Sounds quite cool though! It prompted me to have a bit of a google, and because I am Master of the art of Googling, I did find a couple more pics from the shoot on various hairdressing sites. They do like their massive eye-covering fringes at Tigi:

I am missing this hair colour. The orange I have at the minute is much darker/redder than this. I think I prefer the more yellowy version. In fact, purely yellow hair would be fab. Maybe time for a change! Seeing too much orange hair lately. lol.

flights n things
trying to book a flight from Montreal to Tampa
going with Continental as i can get Virgin miles
tho now i'm trying to pick which airport to connect through by seeing if they offer free wifi

Cleveland
Newark
no luck according to this site

i wrote travelpost yesterday to tell them that SJC did in fact have free wifi everywhere in the airport
and that Manila Intl offers it as well in their very inexpensive lounge.

Only an hour in either one
hmm... do i want that hour in Cleveland or New Jersey?

edit:
booked n confirmed

Aug 12
Montreal YUL to Cleveland CLE

Cleveland CLE to Tampa TPA

thanks to [info]sleek_imager i have actually been starting to pay attention to aircraft.
This way I know when i'll be shoved up and packed away under a bulkhead and i can prepare accordingly.
though i was also thinking that if i paid more attention in the past, I could be trying to keep a list of the types of planes i've been on.

second leg: boeing 737-800

Drac in a Box gothic and alternative wear
In record productive turnaround time, the shoot I did yesterday morning with [info]rootofsilence for Drac In a Box Clothing is up on thier website catalogue already, so I can post some of the pics now :)

several more full size/large... )

There's more on the Drac In a Box website too.

I'm quite pleased with this shoot. We decided to be super-organised for once and went scouting for locations the evening beforehand. After finding some pretty cool places around the train station and a couple of other random urban areas, by total chance we came across this wonderful mini bus/coach graveyard in a random carpark not even very far from my house. There were about 6 gutted buses, including one old-fashioned double decker that looked like it came from a theme park or something. Some of them still had bits of the original seating etc in. There was also the top half skeleton of another double decker. It was so much fun climbing in and around them and getting covered in dirt and cobwebs. lol. I really want to go back there and do some crazy heavily-styled type thing.

Oh Canada...?
Anyone fly Air Canada  before?

Lookin at flights from Montreal to Tampa on Aug 12
seems no one actually does that directly
and if i take the carrier i prefer, then i'd be flying back to the UK (doh!)

so, there are a variety of airlines i can chose from currently
NWA, AA, United, US air, Continental, Delta, Air Canada

Grrr Want BritishAir miles but that means i'd have to take AA and i'm going to skip that one after my last experience with them.
tho i suppose i can collect Virgin miles by going with Continental and their schedule doesn't look too bad and with a total travel time of just over 5 hours including the connection (an hour on the ground)

Question:
i know going through border control happens on the Canada side when flying into the US
but what if i fly from Montreal, to Toronto, then onwards into the USA? Will i be processed in Montreal or Toronto?

Air Canada has an early am flight into Toronto where I can sit in their lounge for a couple of hours before boarding the flight to Tampa.
no point in thinking i'm going to use it if my time is going to be queued up going through the US's immigration process in Toronto.

Syren latex catalogue
Some of the new catalogue myself and [info]kumimonster modelled for Syren Latex is up on thier website already! :) Though they have blurred out our butt cracks as the site is supposed to be PG-13? lol.

I think I mentioned how incredibly hot it was shooting in latex in the midday sun this day on a previous entry here so I wont do it again!

There is a rather more detailed and better written account of this shoot over at Kumi's Social Kink Blog with more pics too :)

This weekend despite still feeling poop, I dosed up on Ibuprofen and spent 2 days shooting some new items for Drac In A Box clothing. Yesterday in Bristol with [info]damiens and today with [info]rootofsilence. Today was especially fun as we managed to find the most cool location I've shot in in ages, and it fitted the 'urban decay' theme rather perfectly. I can't wait to pimp the pics. hehe.

In other news I'm vaguely stressing about financing my Masters. It looks like I will have to get a Career Development Loan to cover living costs for the year but I'm really hating the idea of being in debt and tied down to paying if off for probably 2 years after I finish the course. I guess I will have to get a part-time job while I'm studying and never have any free time!

it's always nice to receive things in the mail that don't demand you sending them money!

i got a CD of images from Eric Martin as well as his new book of images
(including a forward by Pascal (from Les Furieux) in French with the translation done by him and myself for the English - had to change some things to make some sense of it ;-)

the images in the book are of me wearing HW Design in Paris and our latex glove session in Berlin at the Propeller Hotel a couple years ago ;-)
